Dallas street racing: 8 arrested in operation, police say



DALLAS — Eight individuals have been arrested in connection to unlawful street racing incidents in Dallas, police mentioned.

The arrests occurred on Sunday after police obtained complaints from residents in current months about street racing in the TEXpress lanes on Interstate 635, based on police.

Eight individuals on bikes have been taken into custody off I-635 close to Luna Road.

Dallas police mentioned its street racing job drive investigated the case with help from the Farmers Branch Police Department.

Further particulars concerning the operation weren’t instantly launched. It’s unclear what, if any, prices the individuals in custody will face.

Illegal street racing incidents have garnered consideration in Texas in current weeks after a viral social media video confirmed a “street takeover” incident in Austin. Video confirmed crowds pushing again a police automobile and even throwing fireworks on the automobile.

On Feb. 23, Gov. Greg Abbott introduced a statewide job drive to focus on “street takeovers.” The governor mentioned he is directing the Texas Department of Public Safety to work with native authorities to analyze and prosecute these concerned in takeover incidents.
