Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia now president of MCCA



The Major Cities Chiefs Association (MCCA) is a corporation of regulation enforcement executives representing the most important cities within the United States and Canada.

DALLAS — Dallas’ prime cop is coming into a brand new position because the president of the Major Cities Chiefs Association.

The Major Cities Chiefs Association (MCCA) is a corporation of regulation enforcement executives representing the most important cities within the United States and Canada.

Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia made the announcement to his division on Monday. He will function president of MCCA efficient instantly in place of lately retired Phoenix Police Chief Jeri Williams, after which serve a full two-year time period.

In his position as MCCA president, Garcia mentioned he’ll work to convey consciousness to the problems “important to us as law enforcement and our city.”

The group consists of leaders of law-enforcement businesses in different Texas cities too – Austin, Arlington, El Paso, Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio.

MCCA works to handle challenges and points of policing, together with public security and insurance policies.

In a press release to the Dallas Police Department, Garcia mentioned partly, “While this is a new role for me, it does not change my commitment to this department, the city of Dallas, the men and women who protect and serve.”

Garcia will likely be sworn in on the MCCA Annual Meeting in Dallas, which is being held from Oct. 12-15. 

“This position is not a personal win for me, but a win for the Department and the city of Dallas,” Garcia mentioned.
