Dallas ISD unveils new Thomas Jefferson High School campus Jan. 9



The college has been beneath development since an EF-3 twister hit in 2019.

DALLAS — Administrators and contractors are busy setting the stage for the state at Thomas Jefferson High School. They’re anxious for Monday’s massive welcome, as college students return to a model new college constructing.

“We’ve worked really hard on the selections of some of the finishes and even the furniture, to make it not only feel like a high school. But to make it feel more collegiate,” stated Principal Benjamin Jones, as he lead a mini-tour of the model new college constructing.

Every inch of the new Thomas Jefferson High School was designed with group in thoughts.

An EF-3 twister rocked the world again in 2019. It destroyed the old-fashioned and lots of close by houses. The college’s new health club and athletics wing now double as a storm shelter.

Dozens of new lecture rooms have new, up to date, modern furnishings and state-of-the-art expertise.

The brand-new library serves as one of many campus’ focal factors.

“Our school community changed so much. We were so grateful to have a place to go together. But we’re so grateful to come back. It’s so beautiful here,” stated instructor Cathleen Cadigan.

There are vibrant colours all through the constructing. The campus is filled with modern design.

There’s a new efficiency corridor that has all the bells and whistles to rival any skilled theater on the town.

“The first thing that was going through my mind was… it’s a new beginning,” stated Noe Murillo, Senior Class President.

Just steps away from the highschool campus is the new Walnut Hill International Leadership Academy. The Pre-Ok by way of eighth-grade campus has a number of outside lecture rooms. Inside, academics are enthusiastic about utilizing each nook of the new constructing.

“Monday morning, I am opening the doors to families, and students, and a community that has deserved this building long before a tornado hit it. They have deserved this facility for decades,” Jones added.

Contractors will concentrate on finishing their closing sweep of the constructing, over the weekend, as they put together for college students and employees to stroll by way of these doorways on Monday, Jan. 9.
