Community members push for period product accessibility with new pantry on West Side



SAN ANTONIO – On a boulevard as busy as West Martin, there’s no longer a lot time to go searching the community. That’s why Olivia Orona and her staff at Periodpalooza selected the colour crimson for their “period pantry.”

“We had a lot of inspiration from food pantries and book pantries,” Orona mentioned. “Our biggest thing is getting people to help us hit the ground and to let everybody know that we’re here.”

“We’re trying to make sure that we’re meeting the demand,” Medina mentioned. “We really do need a lot of help and support with donations of diapers and period supplies.”
