With a federal vacation Monday, space cities are set to shut their offices. The Herald compiled a listing of how the Martin Luther King Jr. vacation will influence residents.
The city of Killeen offices shall be closed Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. All offices will reopen for regular enterprise hours Tuesday.

Garbage assortment will stay on its common schedule. The Killeen Transfer Station shall be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Killeen Recycling Center shall be closed.
The Family Recreation Center shall be open from 5 a.m. to five p.m. The Lions Club Park Senior Center shall be closed.
The City of Harker Heights offices shall be closed Monday, Jan. 16, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. All offices will reopen for regular enterprise hours Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023.

Emergency providers will function with out interruption.

In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, all City of Copperas Cove services, together with the Solid Waste Transfer Station, shall be closed Monday. The week’s assortment schedule shall be as follows:

Jan. 16: Holiday. No trash or recycling assortment.
Jan. 17: Areas 1 & 2 for trash assortment. Area 1 for recycling, brush and bulk.
Jan. 18: Areas 3 & 4 for trash assortment. Area 3 for recycling, brush and bulk.
Jan. 19: Areas 5 & 6 for trash assortment. Area 5 for recycling, brush and bulk.
Jan. 20: Areas 7 & 8 for trash assortment. Area 7 for recycling, brush and bulk.
Commercial trash shall be collected on the usually scheduled day.Â
