Central Florida 11-year-old placed on heart transplant list


A Central Florida youth heart, which helps so many households in Orlando, is now asking for the group’s assist for 11-year-old Dashawna Bennett, who wants a heart transplant.New Imagine Youth Center is positioned in Parramore. Executive Director Shanta’ Barton-Stubbs based it in 2004. Their mission is to supply a free secure place for kids and improve their tutorial, social, bodily and psychological well-being.She’s recognized Dashawna since she was 5 years previous. The fifth-grade honor roll pupil celebrated her eleventh birthday Tuesday at UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville. She was airlifted there in November. Doctors recognized her with heart failure and stated she wants a heart transplant.”It’s a very uncomfortable place to be, but at the same time, we believe in God. We believe that there’s a higher power that’s a healer. We believe that her tenacity, her strength is going to get her through this process and she’s not going to do it alone. It will be with all her superheroes who are joining in,” stated Barton-Stubbs.She’s making an attempt to take advantage of out of a scary scenario by arising along with her personal marketing strategy, taking part in video games with nurses and spending time along with her six brothers and sisters.This journey hasn’t been simple or low cost for Dashawna’s household. Her mom, in a matter of weeks, packed up and moved to Gainesville in order that they could possibly be by her aspect each step of the way in which.They’re grateful for help from folks like Barton-Stubbs with NIYC.”We’re just joining in on this journey not knowing the outcome.
