Carroll ISD Southlake rolls back LGBTQ student protections



The Carroll ISD Board of Trustees voted to roll back the protections with a 5-1 vote.

SOUTHLAKE, Texas — Controversy has been raised over current modifications made by Carroll ISD to its Student Code of Conduct, rolling back protections for college students based mostly on race, faith, gender and sexual identification.

The measures have been handed by trustees with a 5-1 vote Monday evening. 

In a press release from the district, Carroll ISD mentioned its code dictates the Board of Trustees yearly set up a Student Code of Conduct for the district, together with procedures to deal with behaviors like bullying, discrimination and harassment.
