Bucks County boy graduates online high school



David Balogun appears to be like like your common happy-go-lucky child, however what separates him from different youngsters is that he graduated high school at simply 9 years outdated!

HARRISBURG, Pa. — David Balogun appears to be like like your common happy-go-lucky youngster. He performs baseball, does karate, and enjoys actions along with his dad and mom and sister.

But, what separates David from different youngsters his age is that he graduated high school at simply 9 years outdated!

“I spotted that I [was] capable of graduate on the age of ten or 9 so long as I put the trouble in, and with the assistance of my mother, dad and, in fact, Reach Cyber Charter School I used to be capable of graduate,” David informed FOX43. 

He is now the youngest pupil ever to graduate from Reach Cyber Charter, based mostly in Harrisburg after getting into this system in third grade.

The constitution school allowed David to finish his courses online in his hometown of Bensalem, in Bucks County.

“One of the important things in our charter is we have accelerated pacing. So, kids can go year-round and if they’re very smart and on-track and motivated like David, they can move ahead at their own individual pace,” stated CEO of Reach Cyber Charter School Jane Swan.

“I wanted to do it because I had the ability to do it,” said David. “So why not use those abilities for the greater good?”

Prior to receiving his commencement certificates, David was awarded the 2022 Distinguished Student Award from the Pennsylvania Association of Gifted Education.

He’s additionally a member of Mensa International, the biggest high-IQ society on the planet.

Even at a younger age, David was very inquisitive. 

“He’s been extremely curious about knowing things and this has prepared him,” stated Henry Balogun, David’s father.

“The phrase proud just isn’t sufficient in any respect for that,” David’s mom, Ronya, stated.

David will obtain his official diploma in June with the opposite graduates and has already begun taking college-level programs and is contemplating a profession in both engineering, chemistry, or software program growth.

“I hope I can use this chance to indicate that I’m not the one one who can do that,” stated David.
