Adam Gemili has parted firm with Rana Reider amid rising scrutiny on the American coach as a consequence of sexual misconduct allegations.
Gemili steered final month that the ‘relentless bad press’ round his coach – who denies the allegations – contributed to his disappointing performances on the World Athletics Championships.
The sprinter’s resolution to stick with Reider after it emerged the latter was beneath investigation by the US Center for SafeSport value Gemili his lottery funding from UK Athletics in December.

American coach Reider is beneath investigation for a number of allegations of sexual misconduct
Reider was cautioned by police after being caught on website on the worlds regardless of being denied accreditation. Gemili has left Reider on amicable phrases.
Reider’s lawyer Ryan Stevens has stated the allegations are ‘unvetted’ and ‘unproven’.
Meanwhile, 1500m world champion Jake Wightman will try to finish a golden hat-trick on the Commonwealth Games and European Championships this month earlier than he chases money.
The Scottish athlete stated: ‘This is potentially a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I need to make the most of it now.
‘Hopefully the (media and commercial) opportunities are still there post-season. I see this (the Commonwealth Games) as an opportunity to add to my CV.’
