FIRST RESPONDERS ARRIVING ON SCENE RUSHING THAT PERSON TO THE HOSPITAL. RIGHT NOW, IT’S UNCLEAR HOW THAT SHOOTING OCCURRED. MIDWEST CITY POLICE WORKING TO GATHER SOME MORE INFORMATION. OF COURSE, WE’LL KEEP YOU UPDATED ON THIS DEVELOPING STORY AND ALSO DEVELOPING THIS MORNING, ONE PERSON RUSHED TO THE HOSPITAL AFTER BEING SHOT LATE LAST NIGHT. THIS HAPPENED NEAR HEFNER AND WESTERN ROAD JUST AFTER 10 P.M. OKLAHOMA CITY POLICE SAY THIS STARTED AS A DISPUTE BEFORE SHOTS WERE FIRED. POLICE TAKING THE SHOOTER INTO CUSTODY. THE VICTIM THAT WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL IS EXPECTED TO BE OKAY. AND BREAKING DEVELOPING BREAKING NEWS OUT OF BROKEN ARROW OVERNIGHT. A STANDOFF SITUATION IN TURNED DEADLY LAST NIGHT. POLICE WERE CALLED TO A CHECK ON A HOME. AND WHEN THEY ARRIVED, THEY FOUND A WOMAN DEAD INSIDE AND A MAN ARMED WITH A KNIFE. THE MAN BARRICADED HIMSELF AND REFUSED TO COME OUT. AFTER SEVERAL HOURS, POLICE FOUND THE MAN DEAD INSIDE WITH A SELF INFLICTED WOUND. AN INVESTIGATION IS NOW UNDERWAY. LEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE NOW A BIT SAFER THAN THEY WERE BEFORE, THANKS TO A GENEROUS DONATION. THE STAND FIRST FOUNDATION PROVIDED THEM WITH LIFESAVING BALLISTIC SHIELDS. THE ORGANIZATION SAYS THEY BOUGHT THEM FOR POTTAWATTAMIE COUNTY AFTER HEARING ABOUT A DEPUTY THERE WHO WAS SHOT IN OCTOBER OF 2021 DURING A STANDOFF WITH A SUSPECT. THEY PROVIDE THESE TWO DEPARTMENTS WITH LESS THAN 100 OFFICERS OR THOSE WHO CAN’T AFFORD THEM. THESE SHIELDS SHOULD BE IN EVERY PATROL CAR THAT EXISTS IN EVERY CHURCH. THEY OUGHT TO BE IN EVERY SCHOOL, ESPECIALLY COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS, COURTHOUSES. WE JUST DON’T SEE ENOUGH OF THOSE. THE OFFICER IN THAT 2021 SHOOTING SURVIVED HIS INJURIES AND WAS EVENTUALLY ABLE TO RETURN TO THE JOB. HE SAYS HE’S GLAD HE AND HIS FELL
