Biden to host survivors of mass shootings at event celebrating new gun law



WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden will host survivors and relations of victims of mass shootings at a White House event Monday highlighting the new law aimed at stopping such massacres.

Biden will have fun the passage of the law, titled the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, through the event, a White House official mentioned. The official referred to as the law, which Biden signed in late June, “the most significant gun violence reduction legislation in 30 years.”

Survivors and relations of these killed within the mass shootings at Columbine, Virginia Tech, Aurora, Tucson, Sandy Hook, Parkland, Santa Fe, Uvalde, Buffalo, Highland Park and elsewhere are anticipated to attend, the official mentioned.

Gun security advocates and elected officers from communities affected by gun violence are additionally anticipated to be part of the president at the event.

The new law provides grants to states for “red flag” legal guidelines, enhances background checks by together with juvenile information, and closes the “boyfriend loophole” by conserving weapons away from nonspouse courting companions convicted of abuse.
