FORT WORTH, Texas — Typically, freezing temperatures would hold folks residence. Despite an arctic blast hitting North Texas, the Armed Forces Bowl at TCU’s Amon G. Carter Stadium went on.
Crowds bundled up and braved the brutal cold to observe the Baylor Bears and U.S. Air Force Academy face off.
The cold climate didn’t cease Trent Thompson, a resident of Amarillo, from attending the sport to cheer on Baylor.
“We’re super fans, that’s all we can say,” Thompson stated.
Andrea Cameron wore layers of jackets to observe her son, Josh Cameron (#34). He’s a large receiver for Baylor.
“We are insane,” Cameron stated. “It is freezing out, here anything for my kid though! Sic ‘em Bears!”
During the sport Thursday night, temperatures in Fort Worth had been in the one digits. The arctic entrance introduced in subzero wind chills with wind gusts of round 20 mph
Kea Westbrook, a Baylor fan, struggled to stroll with the layered clothes she placed on to battle the cold.
“I’m wearing a, jacket, hoodie, sweater, more shirts, it’s not enough!” Westbrook stated.
While the sport went on, climate compelled a number of different cancellations. Veterans Village and Tailgate Outpost had been each known as off.
The big field-sized flag show was canceled as a result of wind, and the All Veteran Group parachuters show didn’t occur.
Unable to deal with freezing temperatures, crowds of followers started leaving the sport earlier than halftime.
