Arlington ISD: School placed on shelter order after shooting

ARLINGTON, Texas — Three Arlington Independent School District colleges had been placed underneath a “shelter” order on account of police exercise surrounding the campuses, officers say.

The district stated Lamar High School, Butler Elementary and Turning Point Secondary remained underneath the order till police gave the all-clear that the risk was away from the neighborhood. 

A “shelter” means college students and lecturers will proceed with their day as regular whereas remaining indoors – differing from a lockdown as a result of there’s no direct risk to the varsity, Arlington ISD says.

The Arlington Police Department stated based on preliminary stories, round 12:40 p.m. within the 700 block of West Lamar Boulevard an argument occurred between two folks, ending in a person being shot.

Police stated the suspect reportedly fled the world, which is within the space of Lamar High School.

The shooting sufferer was taken by non-public car to a neighborhood hospital in Arlington, police stated. There’s no phrase but on the sufferer’s situation.

District officers stated all three colleges launched on time Monday afternoon. Lamar High School college students had been let loose in a managed launch.
