Arab Muslim student at Stanford hurt in hit-and-run on campus: University police

An Arab Muslim student at Stanford University used to be hurt in a hit-and-run on campus, and the incident is being investigated as a possible hate crime, in line with college police.

The sufferer mentioned on Friday afternoon the motive force “made eye contact with him,” speeded up and hit him, after which drove away and yelled “—- you and your people” out the automobile window, Stanford’s Department of Public Safety said.

“I never imagined becoming the victim of a hate-driven attack,” the sufferer mentioned in a remark, according to San Francisco ABC station KGO. “His hateful screams … still echo in my ears as I grapple with the emotional pain this incident has left in its wake.”

The sufferer’s accidents are non-life-threatening, the Department of Public Safety mentioned.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident as a possible hate crime, in line with the college. CHP didn’t straight away reply to ABC News’ request for remark.

“We are profoundly disturbed to hear this report of potentially hate-based physical violence on our campus,” Stanford University President Richard Saller and Provost Jenny Martinez mentioned in a letter to the neighborhood. “Violence on our campus is unacceptable. Hate-based violence is morally reprehensible, and we condemn it in the strongest terms. We want to express our deep concern for the student who was injured, and for all affected by this incident.”

Stanford police mentioned safety has been upped at places on campus and the college is “continuing to work to provide a safe and secure campus environment in the context of heightened tensions related to the events in Israel and Gaza.”

The sufferer reported that the motive force used to be a white guy in his mid-20s with brief grimy blond hair, a brief beard and spherical glasses, in line with college police.

The suspect used to be riding a black Toyota 4Runner with an uncovered tire fastened to the rear heart and a Toyota brand in the middle of the wheel. The 4Runner had a white California registration number plate with the letters M and J, college police mentioned.
