Antonio Conte laments ‘difficult’ defeat to Sporting CP


Antonio Conte has lamented Tottenham Hotspur’s shock 2-0 defeat to Sporting CP on Tuesday night, admitting that his workforce can do higher.

The Portuguese facet scored two late targets at Estádio José Alvalade to safe an enormous win – one which sees them transfer to the highest of Group D.

Speaking after the sport to the press, Conte admitted that he was unimpressed by his facet’s efficiency within the final ten minutes of the sport, stating: “A difficult result for sure, when you lose the game you’re not happy. I think that the game was in [the] balance in the second half and I think we could’ve scored and we tried to win the game but in the last ten minutes we can do much better.

“They scored from a nook after which we conceded the second objective after the ninetieth minute. I feel it is a pity however a troublesome recreation for positive. We tried to get the win however then on the finish we misplaced the sport.”

Despite the manner of the defeat, and his clear disappointment, Conte insisted that they intend to analyse the positives as well as the negatives from the game.

“We attempt to analyse the sport very properly with the gamers to perceive what the constructive issues that we did have been and what are the unfavourable conditions that we will enhance for the longer term.

“For sure this level is a high level, the Champions League. Against Marseille was another tough game. Tonight was another tough game. We need to know that if we want to have the ambition to go to the next round we have to fight, we have to fight a lot, especially in this group because in this group I see a lot of balance between the teams.”
