A family of 4 was found dead at Fort Stewart in Georgia, the Army says

The U.S. Army says 4 family contributors have been found dead within a house at Fort Stewart in southeast Georgia

FORT STEWART, Ga. — Four family contributors have been found dead within a house at Fort Stewart in southeast Georgia, the U.S. Army stated Thursday.

Military police came upon the our bodies of a soldier, her husband and their two kids Wednesday afternoon after contributors of the soldier’s unit asked a welfare test, consistent with the observation from Fort Stewart officers.

The observation didn’t say whether or not investigators have been in search of suspects. But it known as the deaths an “isolated incident” and stated there is not any risk to the broader neighborhood.

Fort Stewart spokesperson Kevin Larson declined to remark additional, bringing up the energetic investigation.

Thomas Hamilton, a spokesperson for the Army Criminal Investigation Division, stated that “the individuals associated with this incident have been identified.” But he declined to mention whether or not any suspects have been apprehended or have been being sought.

The Army didn’t right away free up the names of the ones found dead.

Fort Stewart is the largest Army post east of the Mississippi River. Located about 40 miles (65 kilometers) southwest of Savannah, it’s house to the Army’s third Infantry Division.
