An “unhappy” 16-foot albino reticulated python was rescued by an animal shelter in Austin, Texas on Monday – after being missing for months.
The Austin Animal Center wrote on its verified Facebook web page that they acquired a name concerning the large reptile on Monday.
“Due to the temperatures the snake was lethargic enough that a couple of residents were able to catch it and keep it in their garage,” wrote the municipal shelter, which is run by town of Austin.
And whereas usually callers exaggerate the dimensions of snakes when calling the shelter, in this case the python was simply as large because the callers thought.
Residents mentioned they’d been seeing the huge snake in the neighborhood since July, based on the Facebook put up. The shelter put the snake in short-term in a single day housing, then requested the Austin Zoo to offer “more appropriate” housing for the time being.

Now snake and proprietor have been fortunately reunited, based on the Facebook put up.
Reticulated pythons are one of many world’s longest snake species, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. They can exceed 20 ft at their longest. In the wild, the snakes are discovered in southern and southeast Asia, though they’re purchased and bought as pets around the globe.
