LONDON — A 15-year-old girl was once stabbed to demise whilst on her strategy to faculty simply south of London on Wednesday morning, and a 17-year-old male suspect was once arrested in connection along with her demise, police stated.
The Metropolitan Police stated that officials have been on the scene at round 8:30 a.m., round two mins after receiving reviews that the girl was once stabbed in Croydon, a hectic residential and industry district simply south of London.
Chief Superintendent Andy Brittain stated that police cars, paramedics and an air ambulance have been dispatched, however the girl was once pronounced lifeless on the scene in a while after.
Around 75 mins after the stabbing, Brittain stated {that a} 17-year-old male suspect, who can have recognized the sufferer, was once arrested now not a long way from the scene of the crime.

Stabbings involving young people aren’t uncommon in London, but it is relatively rare for such incidents to involve girls.
London Mayor Sadiq Khan said that he was “heartbroken” by way of the demise and expressed sympathy with the girl’s circle of relatives and area people.
The girl, who hasn’t been named, was once a pupil on the Old Palace of John Whitgift School, a personal ladies’ faculty in Croydon.
The faculty expressed its surprise on the “senseless and tragic death of our much-loved and valued friend and pupil.”
