Shamond Lewis death: Dallas County jail inmate dies

DALLAS — A 24-year-old man died after a medical episode on the Dallas County jail, officers introduced Monday night.

Shamond Lewis, an inmate on the jail, was hospitalized after an unspecified episode on Sept. 23, in response to a news launch from the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office.

One week later, on Sept. 30, Lewis died at Parkland hospital. No extra information about his dying was launched by the sheriff’s workplace.

Officials mentioned Lewis’ medical episode occurred at some point after he was booked into jail on a cost of aggravated assault with a lethal weapon. More particulars about his case weren’t launched.

The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office is investigating his dying.
