3-year-old dies after aunt allegedly pushed him into Lake Michigan

A toddler has died after allegedly being pushed from Chicago’s Navy Pier into Lake Michigan by his aunt, CBS Chicago reported.

The 3-year-old, whom prosecutors recognized as Josiah Brown, suffered cardiac arrest and mind harm on account of the alleged incident final week. Prosecutors say that Brown’s aunt, Victoria Moreno, shoved him off of the pier and didn’t attempt to assist him as he struggled underwater for about half-hour, on Monday afternoon.

Ashton King, a lady who says she witnessed the incident involving Moreno and Brown at Navy Pier, advised CBS Chicago she noticed the boy floating within the water whereas the aunt allegedly stood by and watched. 

Moreno, 34, was initially charged with two felony counts of tried homicide within the first diploma and aggravated battery to a toddler youthful than 13 inflicting everlasting mind harm, Chicago Police introduced Wednesday. At the time, Brown was hospitalized for his accidents, authorities stated in a news launch noting that the toddler was discovered Monday in “critical condition” and brought to a close-by hospital by emergency personnel.

Moreno, a resident of Des Plaines, Illinois, was denied bail throughout a bond listening to that befell as police introduced her prices, regardless of the protection’s arguments suggesting that she suffers from psychological sickness. Josiah Brown’s grandfather, Dan Brown, advised WLS-TV someday after the incident that his household wants “a lot of prayer right now.”
