2 teens killed after 17-year-old driver crashes into pole in St. Petersburg


PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla.  — The St. Petersburg Police Department mentioned two teens have been killed and one other injured in a crash early Saturday morning.

According to St Pete PD, shortly earlier than 1 a.m., a 17-year-old teen was driving a 2013 Buick Rendezvous eastbound on eleventh Avenue South when he drove off the highway and crashed into an influence pole.

The 17-year-old’s two passengers, an 18-year-old boy and a 14-year-old lady, each died as a result of crash. St Pete PD mentioned the 18-year-old was pronounced lifeless on the scene, and the 14-year-old lady was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg the place she was pronounced lifeless.

The 17-year-old, per St. Pete PD, was taken to John Hopkins All Children’s Hospital with minor accidents.

At this time, it’s unknown what induced the 17-year-old to drive off the highway, and an investigation is ongoing.
