1 in 3 Texas vehicle deaths due to speed | National News


AUSTIN – Last 12 months the variety of individuals killed in vehicle crashes in Texas reached a degree not seen since 1981, and 34% of these deaths concerned speed. In addition to writing citations, legislation enforcement autos will spend additional time driving on roads reminding motorists what a secure speed appears like. 

Driving a secure speed typically means greater than following the posted speed restrict. TxDOT has these security ideas for motorists:

•          Match your speed to street situations if there’s dangerous climate otherwise you’re driving by means of a piece zone.

•          Slow down and permit for extra distance to cease when site visitors is heavy.

•          Watch for indicators alerting you of decreased speed limits forward.

This month Texas drivers can count on to see the marketing campaign’s speed messages on TV, radio, billboards, fuel pumps, and social media.
