The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals voted Thursday morning to overturn a portion of Matthew Hall’s conviction in connection to the taking pictures loss of life of Sgt Craig Johnson and Officer Aurash Zarkeshan.
Hall had been charged with two counts of accent to a felony however the second depend has not been dismissed by the judges.
In June of 2020, Sgt Craig Johnson and Officer Aurash Zarkeshan stopped David Anthony Ware close to twenty first Street and I-44. According to Tulsa Police Chief Wendell Franklin, Ware was requested to exit his automobile as a result of the automobile wanted to be towed resulting from taxes as a result of state however Ware refused to conform. Franklin stated that because the encounter turned extra bodily, and Sgt. Johnson tried to tase Ware. In March of 2021, Matthew Hall was convicted of selecting Ware up on the scene and driving him away. Ware was convicted of homicide, taking pictures with intent to kill, firearm, and drug possession. He was sentenced to loss of life for the homicide of Sgt. Johnson.
