Indian celebrity and former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper Virat Kohli expressed his pleasure after RCB gained a bid to own a team in the Women’s Premier League. Notably, on Wednesday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) introduced the profitable bidders for the Women’s Premier League, with the bidders incomes the possession rights for a mixed bid valuation of INR 4669.99 Cr.

The likes of Adani Sportsline Pvt. Ltd (INR 1289 crores), India win Sports Pvt. Ltd (INR 912.99 crores), Royal Challengers Sports Pvt. Ltd (INR 901 crores), JSW GMR Cricket Pvt. Ltd (INR 810 crores) and Capri Global Holdings Pvt. Ltd (INR 757 crores) accomplished the 5 franchises to win the bid. Three of the 5 franchises have already got groups in the Indian Premier League (IPL). While JSW GMR Cricket Pvt own Delhi Capitals (DC), Royal Challengers Sports Pvt. Ltd and India win Sports Pvt. Ltd owns RCB and Mumbai Indians (MI), respectively.

Kohli took to Twitter and expressed his pleasure about RCB’s profitable bid in the Women’s Premier League. The Delhi-born talked about he would cheer for RCB Women.

“Well played, RCB! So thrilled that my team has won the bid for the Bengaluru Women’s Premier League team. Can’t wait to cheer for our women in Red and Gold,” Kohli tweeted.

Earlier, after bagging the rights to own a team in the Women’s Premier League, RCB, by means of their official Twitter deal with, wrote: “Breaking barriers, making history, and playing bold! Royal Challengers Bangalore are the proud owners of the Bengaluru Women’s Premier League Team.”
