LOS ANGELES, Calif. — A landscape-altering transfer in school soccer seems to be on the horizon and it might deliver with it extra convention realignment.
In a transfer first reported by Jon Wilner, and later confirmed by SI and The Athletic, USC and UCLA are planning to leave the Pac-12 convention for the Big Ten as early as 2024. Wilner and SI mentioned the transfer hasn’t been finalized but “at the highest levels of power.”

USC and UCLA are in negotiations to be part of the Big Ten convention, a supply tells @SINow, confirming @wilnerhotline‘s report.
A surprising however not all that stunning transfer: Teams are jockeying to get into the prime two leagues of FBS – the SEC and B1G.

Fox Sports’ Bruce Feldman pushed the experiences forward saying USC and UCLA reached out to the Big Ten about probably becoming a member of the convention.
Source tells me that there’s a lot of reality to @wilnerhotline report about USC and UCLA in discussions to leave for the Big Ten. My understanding is USC and UCLA reached out to the Big Ten.. sure authorized parameters and bylaws want to be adopted for clearly authorized causes. https://t.co/2NSDv8YtWA

If USC and UCLA be part of the Big 10, it is going to be that convention’s reply to the SEC’s transfer of bringing in Texas and Oklahoma in a few years. While the SEC is taken into account the elite soccer convention, the Big 10 produces a few of the most income and does not need to fall behind the SEC in groups or cash.
