TARRANT COUNTY, Texas — A girl has been arrested after being accused of concealing narcotics and offering them to an inmate contained in the Tarrant County Jail, in line with the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO).
TCSO stated Aaliyah Lyles, who labored for an outdoor vendor, was arrested in August and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance between 4 and 200 grams, Possession of a Controlled Substance between one and 4 grams and Possession of a Prohibited Substance or Item in a Correctional Facility.
According to TCSO, investigators grew to become conscious of the scenario after an inmate was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital for a medical emergency believed to be associated or a narcotic overdose. The inmate survived the incident and made a full restoration, TCSO stated.
Multiple interviews had been carried out and it was found an worker who labored for an outdoor vendor introduced the unlawful medicine contained in the jail, TCSO stated.
The investigation additionally revealed that 23-year-old inmate, Trelynn Wormley, might have taken an unlawful narcotic that had been smuggled into the jail just a few days previous to this incident, in line with the sheriff’s workplace. Wormley died at John Peter Smith Hospital on July 20 after being transported resulting from a medical emergency.
“The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office takes this seriously and all those found to be involved will be held fully accountable, including criminal prosecution where evidence leads to charges,” TCSO stated in a launch.
