San Antonio River Authority to host information sessions on Westside creeks design progress



SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio River Authority and several other companions will host a sequence of information sessions for the Westside Creeks Ecosystems Restoration Project.

The mission is a community-based creek recovery effort began via SARA in 2008. It encompasses the Alazán, Apache, Martinez and San Pedro creeks.

Efforts are underway to repair 11 miles of creek techniques channelized as a part of a 1954 federal flood regulate mission, the San Antonio Channel Improvement Project.

The present targets for the mission are to handle present flood regulate measures and beef up water high quality. Wildlife habitats can be targeted via imposing ecosystem recovery practices.

Next week, SARA and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will host a number of network information sessions to give updates and make allowance the network to supply enter on the design of the creeks.
