Police arrest man, 72, in west Miami-Dade LA Fitness stabbing; they say it was over a chair



MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Miami-Dade police arrested a 72-year-old retiree after they stated he stabbed every other guy in a gymnasium locker room Thursday — it appears, it all stemmed from the sufferer’s use of a chair.

The incident took place simply after 8 a.m. on the LA Fitness at 14100 SW Eighth St. close to the Tamiami space.

According to an arrest document, the sufferer advised police that he had simply gotten out of the bathe when Stephen Bussert approached him, apparently “upset with him over using a chair in the shower area.”

Bussert, of west Miami-Dade, aggressively approached the sufferer, who advised Bussert that he would “defend” himself, in keeping with police.

Police stated Bussert started putting the sufferer, who was ready to subdue Bussert. The document states that the sufferer learned he have been stabbed in the stomach throughout the tussle.

LA Fitness workers advised police that they entered the locker room and located the nude sufferer keeping down a clothed Bussert “while holding a knife out of reach,” the document states.

The workers got rid of the knife from each males and known as police. A witness would later inform police he noticed Bussert keeping the knife in his hand prior to the stabbing.

Authorities took Bussert into custody on a price of first-degree annoyed attack with a fatal weapon inflicting nice physically hurt.

He was being held in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $7,500 bond as of Friday afternoon.
