Police: 57 firearms stolen from vehicles in OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Authorities in Oklahoma City are encouraging residents to lock up their firearms and never depart them in vehicles.

Officials with the Oklahoma City Police Department say since January 1, they’ve investigated 57 firearms being stolen out of vehicles.


Investigators say solely 11 of these vehicles have been locked, whereas 38 have been left unlocked.

Police say weapons which can be stolen are sometimes used to commit violent crimes.
