Man, teen girl found dead in crashed car in Callahan retention pond, Florida Highway Patrol says – Action News Jax


CALLAHAN, Fla. — A person and a teen girl have been found dead in a car in a retention pond in Callahan on Friday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol mentioned.

FHP bought a name at 9:15 a.m. concerning the crash from the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office, which was initially investigating the incident.

A two-door silver Ford Mustang was touring down Wind Chime Lane, simply off of U.S. 1, when it went via a fence and right into a retention pond, FHP Sgt. Dylan Bryan mentioned.

The two individuals found dead contained in the car are a 23-year-old man, who was the motive force, and a 17-year-old girl, who was the passenger, Bryan mentioned.

FHP believes the crash occurred between 12 a.m. and a pair of a.m., as a household reported the 17-year-old girl lacking round that point.
