Latino Voters Can Play Key Role in the Outcome of New York’s Most Contested Primary Race

“It is clear through a number of recent public polls that Latinos are mainly concerned about economic matters—specifically, the cost of living, adequate wages, and affordable housing.”

No subject your politics, you’ll more than likely agree that the NY-16 congressional number one, pitting the incumbent Congressman Jamaal Bowman in opposition to Westchester County Executive George Latimer, will probably be the maximum contested congressional number one fight this coming June.

The race so far has been pushed in large part by way of the Israel-Gaza disaster. Bowman has been a staunch recommend of the Palestinian motive, decrying Israel’s reaction to the terrible Hamas assault on Oct. 7. Those protecting Israel have railed in opposition to Bowman, and the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), the greatest pro-Israel foyer crew, has already poured millions into the race to make stronger Latimer’s run.

Yet whilst the Israel-Palestine disaster will indisputably be the factor that garners the maximum consideration in this hotly contested race, Latinos may well be the swing vote, contends long-time Latino commentator Howard Jordan. An in depth inspection of voter knowledge, previous election effects, and present electoral dynamics recommend he’s proper.
