During opening arguments in the case, presided over by Judge Lewis Kaplan, Rapp’s lawyer Peter Saghir informed a jury of six males and 6 ladies that Spacey, then in his late 20s, dedicated “unacceptable” acts towards his then-teenaged shopper, “intentionally to satisfy the drive of his sexual desires”.
