Hudson Weibel Leads Men’s Golf at Highlands Invitational


WESTCHESTER Ill. & PHOENIX, Ariz. – University of Houston Men’s Golf sophomore Hudson Weibel posted a bogey-free 67 within the Second Round of the Highlands Invitational to guide the Cougars and tie for 3rd following the 1st day of the Highlands Invitational at Chicago Highlands Club on Monday night.
 
Competing in his first season with the Cougars after moving from Oklahoma, Weibel opened the match with a 69 and joined Ben James (Virginia), Michael Brennan (Wake Forest), Virgilio Paz (Missouri) and Colin Adams (Wake Forest) at 8-under 136.
 
Second-Round play used to be suspended with six groups desiring to finish play.
 
As a staff, the Cougars joined Duke in a tie for fourth at 17-under 559. Virginia held the first-day lead at 549 whilst host Wake Forest stood in 2d at 555. PAPAGO INDIVIDUAL EVENT
In addition to the Highlands Invitational, 4 Cougars have been competing as people at the Papago Individual Event at Papago Golf Club on Monday.
 
Senior All-Conference megastar Austyn Reily stood in fourth after the 1st 36 holes at 43-under 138.
 
Reily began his day at the 7,551-yard, par-71 route on a just right notice with a birdie at the par-5 first gap however gave a stroke again with a bogey on No. 4. However, he returned to pink numbers with an eagle-3 on No. 9 and solidified his position there with birdies on No. 10 and No. 12 round his ultimate bogey of the spherical.

Arizona State’s Gabriel Salvanera held the first-day lead at 12-under 130 with Texas Tech teammates Tim Wiedemeyer and Ben Gregg in 2d and 3rd, respectively, at 134 and 137.
 
Making his collegiate debut, freshman Grant Doggett used to be tied for 18th at 146 and used to be joined in that workforce by way of jujiro Drew Murdock. Junior Laurenz Schiergen used to be 33rd at 158.
