Garland police: Shooting near South Garland High School



Just earlier than 4 p.m., Garland cops responded to taking pictures name within the 3300 block of Broadway Boulevard.

GARLAND, Texas — A Garland ISD campus was “secured” and an investigation was launched following studies of taking pictures near a highschool Thursday afternoon, officers say.

Just after 3 p.m. Garland cops responded to taking pictures name within the 3300 block of Broadway Boulevard. 

Garland ISD stated South Garland High School was positioned on lockout, which means nobody was allowed on campus, as police arrange a fringe near the varsity. The district stated it was lifted as soon as they obtained the all-clear from police.  

According to a spokesperson with Garland police, “two young people had an argument over a girl in the parking lot of a Sonic,” leading to gunfire. 

When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered one male affected by a gunshot wound. He was transported to an area, and his situation is unknown right now, police stated. 

Garland police stated they’re trying to find the suspect who fired the gun. He’s described as a Hispanic male, between the ages of 17 and 19 years, with a brief haircut. Police stated he was final seen sporting a gray sweatshirt and gray sweatpants. 

Police are asking residents to keep away from the realm because the investigation is ongoing.
