Fury as New York Times demand ‘racist’ Firm is dismantled and Meghan paid with ‘her life’ | Royal | News

The New York Times has demanded that Britain’s “racist” Royal Family is dismantled and additionally advised that “beacon” Meghan Markle needed to pay with “her life” to marry into the Firm. The newspaper’s contributing opinion author Roxane Gay wrote a bit which stated Harry and Meghan, below the headline ‘When Harry Met Meghan’, had been “saving their lives” by forsaking their life throughout the Royal Family and had been “preserving what peace of mind they could salvage from the wreckage of the almost three years they spent trying to solicit support from the royal family”.

The author advised that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex “could not shield [the Royal Family] from racism” and claimed that this is what “ultimately, forced a wedge” between the couple and the household. 

Ms Gay wrote that when the Duke met, and then finally married, Meghan, “we saw, in real time, just how high a price the crown was willing to extract from an outsider, up to and including her life.”

Ms Gay’s article is only one in a line of articles posted by the New York Times that is extremely crucial of the UK. 

Many Twitter customers took to the platform to precise their opinions.

One consumer referred to the New York Times as “woke and going broke”, including that “what they find “match to print” is generally inaccurate”.

Another advised: “It’s no business of [America] what we do with our [Royal Family].”

The consumer added: “Meghan still wants the title and fame it affords while hating the family that afforded her the privilege. Odd that.”

Another consumer known as the article “not really a balanced article”.

They added: “[Royal Family] bent over backwards to protect Ms Markle. Public welcomed her and her mixed race was not an issue – the opposite. She hated being down the pecking order in terms of seniority. Refused advice. Couple arrogant and plans to be half in and out.”

Praising Meghan, Ms Gay wrote “even in royal exile, Meghan plays the part of perfect princess” and describes Harry as “graceful and poised”, including, “But in a way of someone who has lived his entire life as an heir to the throne”.

She added that the Firm’s “unwillingness” to guard Meghan, specifically in the course of the “truly horrific tabloid coverage”, was “indefensible”.

She added: “…If only the Royal Family had been willing to embrace change”.

Piers Morgan, who is recognized for his distaste of opinion of Meghan and Harry, quote-tweeted the article and wrote: “My god… New York Times publishes a shameful trashing of Britain and our Royal Family, including demanding for the monarchy to be dismantled.

“This is what [Harry and Meghan] have achieved with all their lies – made the world view us as a bunch of callous racists.”

Meghan married into the Royal Family in May 2018.

The couple got engaged just 16 months after meeting in the summer of 2016.

They, together, served as senior working royals for almost two years before announcing their decision to step back from their royal roles.

They now reside in the US with their two children, Archie and Lilibet, who appeared frequently in their new Netflix series, Harry and Meghan.
