The Lee County Sheriff’s Office mentioned deputies established a checkpoint at Hickory Boulevard and Kings Kew to help with hurricane aid efforts.
However, at round 12:30 a.m. Sunday, Shelby Peters, 24, sped through the checkpoint and didn’t cease, which the sheriff’s workplace mentioned put the deputies’ lives at risk.
Peters allegedly continued down Hickory Boulevard earlier than making a U-turn and driving again through the checkpoint at a excessive pace.
