Family, friends gather to remember Pompano Beach teen gunned down in street


POMPANO BEACH – Family and friends gathered Sunday night to remember 18-year-old Lamarius Walker who was shot and killed simply steps from his Pompano Beach residence late Friday night time.

“I feel like he sacrificed himself for everybody,” stated the teen’s mom.

A crowd gathered on twenty eighth Avenue and NW 2nd Street to launch inexperienced balloons into the sky in honor of Walker.

“This wasn’t a troublemaker. This wasn’t a gang banger. This was a good kid,” stated the group chaplain, Algenelerro Frazier.

Walker’s mom stated he was a scholar at Coconut Creek High School. She stated he was a twin and was strolling to the shop to get a bag of chips for his five-year-old sister when she heard the gunshots and ran exterior.

The household is asking anybody with information to name the Broward Sheriff’s Office. So far no information has been launched on a suspect.

“He’s too young to be found on the streets dead,” stated his aunt Ashley Walden.
