DeSoto wide receiver Crimson Mathis commits to Texas Permian Basin


The first of Claude Mathis’ twin senior sons introduced his dedication to play in faculty Wednesday morning.

Crimson Mathis, a wide receiver on DeSoto’s 6A Division II state championship crew this season, will be part of DII University of Texas Permian Basin subsequent fall, which competes within the Lone Star convention.

Mathis hauled in 29 catches for 333 yards and three touchdowns as a senior. He missed six video games this season with a damaged jaw after lacking his total junior 12 months with a damaged tibia and fibula.

Crimson turns into the second of Claude Mathis’ sons to commit to play soccer in faculty. Champ, his eldest son, performs for Texas A&M Commerce.

Mathis’ different twin son, Caimon, has but to announce his dedication after de-committing from UNT in December. The two twin brothers wanted to play together in college, however due to Crimson’s accidents, Caimon had extra choices with upwards of 30 affords and a couple of dozen from Power Five applications.

Mathis will be part of Denton Guyer offensive lineman Jacob Fritz, Cedar Hill defensive lineman Elyjah Gilliard, Rockwall-Heath defensive finish Gabe Green, Wylie offensive lineman Matthew Schell and Plano West offensive lineman Reid Mitchell as Dallas-area gamers headed to UTPB subsequent 12 months.
