MIAMI – Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis suspended Miami City Commissioner Alex Diaz de la Portilla from administrative center Friday night following his arrest on a sequence of corruption charges Thursday.

The governor’s suspension order states that the District 1 commissioner is “prohibited from performing any official act, duty or function of public office” or receiving pay all through the suspension length.

Diaz de la Portilla, 58, at the side of legal professional William Riley Jr., 48, face a number of prison charges, together with bribery and cash laundering.
Both have denied any allegations of wrongdoing.
