Dallas, Tampa mayors bet Tiff’s Treats on Cowboys-Bucs



Nothing fairly like a candy, pleasant wager.

DALLAS — When the Cowboys and Buccaneers take the sector at Raymond James Stadium on Monday, there can be far more on the road than a berth to Divisional Round.

How about 500 containers of Tiff’s Treats? That’s what Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson and Tampa Mayor Jane Castor have wagered, with the loser getting the winner’s metropolis a candy deal with for its first responders. 

Johnson put out the news of the challenge on Thursday

“Important @NFL news: Tampa Mayor @JaneCastorand I have agreed to a friendly wager on Monday’s @dallascowboys-@Buccaneers game. Call it the ‘@tiffstreatsThrowdown’ — Winner gets 500 dozen boxes of cookies. I plan to give ours to our first responders and Dallas kids. #GoCowboys!,” Johnson tweeted.

“You’re on, @Johnson4Dallas! Champa Bay is one tough cookie, and we look forward to delivering @tiffstreats to @CityofTampa’s front line workers who get the job done 24/7/365! #GoBucs,” Castor responded.

The Cowboys and Bucs play their wild card recreation on Monday in a primetime matchup on Monday Night Football. 

“The Cowboys have put collectively a terrific season, and the City of Dallas and all of Cowboys Nation is worked up for our crew to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the best quarterback of all time — with sizzling, contemporary cookies on the road,” Mayor Johnson mentioned in a press launch. “We believe in our Cowboys, and we hope this will be the first step in bringing the Lombardi Trophy back to where it belongs. I also want to thank my good friend Mayor Jane Castor for participating in this fun wager, and I want to thank Tiff’s Treats for baking in higher stakes for this game.”

Hopefully Johnson’s bet goes higher than final time he and Castor made a pleasant wager. They bet on the Dallas Stars vs. Tampa Bay Lightning Stanley Cup Finals in 2020. That did not end up nicely for Dallas, both, with the Stars falling to the Lightning in six video games.
