Couple arrested after Oklahoma child missing, horrific abuse

TULSA, Okla. (KFOR) – Officials in Tulsa say a horrific case of child abuse led to a homicide investigation.

On Jan. 27, officers with the Tulsa Police Department have been referred to as to a house after receiving a name from a girl who mentioned a child had been lacking for a number of years and was presumably lifeless.

The lady mentioned that Camille Lewis left her 13-year-old daughter to dwell along with her in September. When the child arrived on the lady’s house, she mentioned she was extraordinarily skinny and malnourished.

At the time, she mentioned that Lewis claimed her 11-year-old son was lifeless.

Tulsa detectives interviewed the 13-year-old lady, who spoke about horrific abuse that lasted for greater than a 12 months.

The lady claimed that her mom and her stepfather, John Miles, would lock her and her brother in separate closets for days at a time, not feed them, and beat them.

Police declare that the lady mentioned Miles would provide her meals in change for sexual favors.

In March of 2021, she mentioned she heard her mom crying and begging her brother to get up. She mentioned that Lewis advised her that her brother had a seizure and died.

Initially, she mentioned she thought her brother was buried in a park, however mentioned she was advised that Miles dug up the physique and burned it in a barrel.

On Feb. 7, investigators arrested Lewis.

Detectives say she admitted to abusing the youngsters and inflicting scars everywhere in the lady’s physique. However, she mentioned that her son was not lifeless. Instead, she mentioned he ran away two years in the past and has not been seen since.

The subsequent day, Miles was taken into custody.

Miles and Lewis have been arrested on complaints of child abuse by harm and child neglect.

“Detectives are actively investigating this case, and at this time this is considered to be a homicide investigation. The remains of the brother have not been found. Charges could be amended depending the outcome of the investigation,” the Tulsa Police Department posted.
