ANNA, Texas — Editor’s notice: The video revealed above is a WFAA report from August 2022 when Mineral Wells ISD introduced its implementation of a four-day school week.
The district stated it made the transfer after surveying the group and employees in November 2022, and the outcomes yielded 72% of fogeys and 87% of employees in favor of the adjustment.
The newly-implemented four-day school week can be a three-year pilot, the district stated.
“School leadership expects the 4-day week to increase student achievement with more opportunities for intervention, and help with teacher retention and recruitment,” the district said.
