AMBER Alert issued in Rosenberg, Texas for Leylani Ordonez



Leylani Ordonez was pronounced lifeless Wednesday morning after being taken to a hospital, police stated. Her father, Alexander Barrios Ordonez, can also be lifeless.

ROSENBERG, Texas — The 1-year-old girl at the center of an AMBER Alert out of Rosenberg has died following a chase together with her father early Wednesday, based on the Rosenberg Police Department.

Leylani Ordonez was pronounced lifeless Wednesday morning after being taken to a hospital. Her father, Alexander Barrios Ordonez, 24, can also be lifeless.

Leylani was final seen shortly after 6 p.m. Tuesday. The Rosenberg Police Department stated she had been kidnapped by her father.

Police stated her father stabbed a person and stole his tow truck earlier than driving Brooks Ave near 1st Street the place Leylani was being watched by her babysitter. He then took off with Leylani in an unknown path.

The Sugar Land Police Department stated at about 2 a.m. Wednesday, their officers noticed Ordonez in the truck close to University and Highway 6 close to an H-E-B retailer. The driver refused to cease, and the chase ended again in Rosenberg an hour later.

The chase ended on FM 762 close to the Southwest Freeway when one of many businesses that assisted in the chase put out spike strips to gradual the stolen automobile down.

Police stated the person received out of the city truck and was holding the newborn in his arms. She was already bloodied. The father then stabbed himself.

“We don’t know the exact moment when the baby was injured. But we do know that when he exited the vehicle, the baby was already bloody,” RPD Lt. Suni Jugueta stated. “Don’t know if it happened right before he exited the vehicle, but we know it didn’t happen when he exited.”

RPD stated the newborn was taken to a hospital and pronounced lifeless.
