Skeletal remains found in Florida woods believed to be father of 4 missing for over a year


Remains found in Tallahassee this week are believed to be these of a Florida father of 4 final seen over a year in the past, police announced.

A bunch of individuals found skeletal human remains simply earlier than 3 p.m. on Monday in what police described as a “heavily wooded area” on the 2600 block of Apalachee Parkway, Tallahassee police mentioned.

Police say that “preliminary findings” point out the remains are these of Jason Winoker, who was reported missing final year.

Winoker, who was 52-years-old on the time of his disappearance, was final seen by members of the family in the early morning hours of Aug. 17, 2021, in accordance to a report filed with the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System.

His final identified whereabouts had been a resort lower than half a mile from the place the human remains had been found.

Winoker and his spouse traveled from Tampa to Tallahassee to drop off one of the couple’s 4 youngsters at Florida State University, CBS affiliate WCTV of Tallahassee reported.

Winoker’s spouse mentioned he wakened disoriented at round 1 a.m., grabbed his pockets and keys, and left their resort room with out his cellphone, in accordance to WCTV. She couldn’t be reached by NBC News for remark.

A spokesperson for the Tallahassee Medical Examiner mentioned the investigation remains open and directed questions to the police division.
