“I probably went to shul more than many of you did. You all think I’m kidding,” Biden mentioned to laughter final week throughout a ceremony celebrating Rosh Hashanah, pointing at a rabbi from Wilmington, Del. “He can tell you I’m not. I’m not.”
“I’m a practicing Catholic, but I’d go to services on Saturday and on Sunday,” he added. Amid the laughter, he once more affirmed: “You all think I’m kidding. I’m not.”
And this week, talking to a bunch of Puerto Ricans in the aftermath of Hurricane Fiona, Biden discovered kinship with a distinct tradition.
“I was sort of raised in the Puerto Rican community at home, politically,” he mentioned.
