TEA Report: Increasing pay, training, improving work conditions would strengthen teacher retention, recruitment in Texas

Texas lecturers may see an adjustment and enchancment as a result of current Teacher Vacancy Task Force (TVTF) report relating to the retention and recruitment of lecturers throughout the state.

In March 2022, Gov. Greg Abbott created the TVTF with lecturers and faculty system leaders to enhance Texas’ teacher retention and recruitment. 

Over the previous 12 months, the TVTF met each different month to look at challenges lecturers confronted and to make coverage adjustments via the Texas Education Agency and the legislature to assist the wants of lecturers.

The TVTF concluded in order to scale back teacher vacancies, there must be a rise in compensation, high quality coaching and assist, and improving work conditions for lecturers throughout Texas. In order for these adjustments to be carried out, further funding must be allotted for each district in Texas.
