2019 Oxnard murder remains unsolved, more Ventura County news


Three years after Oxnard resident Richard Madera, 32, was fatally shot in front of his home in October 2019, police are seeking the public's help to solve the murder.

Help sought in 3-year-old murder case

OXNARD — Oxnard authorities hope the general public will help them transfer ahead with an unsolved murder from 2019.

On Oct. 5, 2019, 32-year-old Richard Madera was fatally shot whereas standing in entrance of his house within the 3000 block of Merced Place round 9:30 p.m., in keeping with the Oxnard Police Department. The block is south of Channel Islands Boulevard and usually west of Rice Avenue within the Diamond Bar neighborhood.

He was shot a number of occasions and died on the scene.

Madera had been lead prepare dinner at A-Burger, 155 S. Oxnard Blvd., and was a hard-working household man with humorousness, his kin advised the Star. He was born and raised in Oxnard and had performed soccer at Oxnard High School, they stated.

He left behind a loving household and three younger kids, police officers stated.
