Shortstop Isiah Kiner-Falefa, a former Ranger, is hitting .262 with four homers, 48 RBI and 66 runs scored. He has hits in seven of his last nine games. Kiner-Falefa has recorded four homers and 37 RBI against right-handed pitching, and has been a nuisance on the base paths with 20 stolen bases in 23 attempts vs. righties.
Several New York regulars will get the day off as the Yankees look ahead to the 2022 MLB playoffs, where they’ve locked in a bye and the No. 2 seed. But Judge remains in the lineup and he’ll bat first as the designated hitter as he continues to pursue history.
