Manchester United have confirmed the signing of Netherlands worldwide Wout Weghorst on loan till the top of the season.

The tall striker was recognized as a short-term answer to United’s lack of depth up entrance, although the Red Devils needed to navigate a switch triangle of themselves, dad or mum membership Burnley and loan aspect Besiktas.

He netted nine times in 18 appearances in all competitions, while he also attracted attention for his starring role in the Netherlands’ eventual World Cup exit at the hands of Argentina.

Having gone 2-0 down in the quarter finals, Weghorst brought his side level by creating chaos in the Albiceleste box, scoring twice to force extra time- including a 101th-minute equaliser from a free kick routine. He scored in the shootout but misses from Virgil van Dijk and Steven Berghuis sealed their elimination as Argentina went on to win the tournament.
