Wesley Gene Peterson, 84 of Valley City ND handed on Dec 19, 2022 at CHI Mercy Health in Valley City. The funeral service can be 2 pm Wednesday, December 28, at Faith Lutheran Church in Valley City with the Reverend Kyle Giermann officiating. Visitation can be one hour earlier than the service. Interment can be in Memory Gardens close to Valley City within the spring.

Wesley Gene Peterson was born October 21, 1938 in Marion ND, the son of George and Erma (Olson) Peterson. He was raised to maturity in Marion. He attended elementary and highschool in Marion. He earned a Standard Teaching diploma from Valley City State University and taught in Gackle ND for 3 years. From there he returned to Valley City State University and earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. He taught in West Fargo Public Schools for 5 years. He attended the University of North Dakota and earned his Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. He taught within the Fargo Public School System for 36 years till his retirement.

He liked nature and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Wesley additionally liked artwork and produced many stunning work. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.

Wesley is survived by his spouse Cheryl (Homan) Peterson, his son Luke Peterson of Oklahoma, Rachel (Kevin) Blumhardt of Fargo ND, his brother Raymond Peterson of Ellendale ND, two sisters Lorraine Nitschke and Laverne Bjornson of Valley City, a brother in-regulation Richard Roberg additionally of Valley City, six grandchildren, Skye, Wesley, Reed and Luke of Oklahoma, Evan and Gwendolyn of Fargo, and lots of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in dying by his first spouse Carol, his dad and mom George and Erma Peterson, a sister Barbara Roberg, and a brother-in-regulation Mickey Bjornson.

The household prefers memorials to Faith Lutheran Church in Valley City ND or to the American Cancer Society.
